Our next speaker is an entrepreneur, historical investigator, author and television presenter. You may know him from The Curse of Oak Island. He also spent fifteen years building a consultancy of 1,200 people. On stage he brings those two worlds together and uses history as a mirror. Please welcome Corjan Mol.
Corjan Mol is a Dutch entrepreneur, author, historical investigator and television presenter whose work explores historical mysteries, lost artifacts and the point where history and technology meet.
It began in 1995 with a copy of Holy Blood, Holy Grail. What started as curiosity became an annual tradition: treasure-hunting journeys with his father through the French Pyrenees, following the trail of Rennes-le-Château, the mystery that inspired The Da Vinci Code. He built an online archive on the subject, hosted the Rennessence podcast with Andrew Gough and the late Filip Coppens, and was invited by the BBC to appear in Forbidden History.
Since 2019 Corjan has been a cast member and researcher on The Curse of Oak Island, the History Channel’s flagship documentary series, broadcast in 79 countries. His investigations for the show took him to Portugal, the Azores, Italy, Malta, The Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark and Nova Scotia. He also appears in Tales from Oak Island, Beyond Oak Island and Digging Deeper.
Since January 2026 he presents Straten van Toen (Streets of the Past), an award winning series that uses AI to recreate Dutch streets at the moments that shaped the country’s history.
With American researcher Christopher Morford he wrote The Jerusalem Files (Watkins / Penguin Random House), which follows the Menorah from Jerusalem through medieval Europe to North America. It became a bestseller in the US and Canada. The two have signed a multi-book deal for The Sandbar Six, an adventure series for young readers based on real historical mysteries. The first book, The Secret of Morris Island, is published in summer 2027.
Corjan is a managing partner at Projective Group, a financial services consultancy of 1,200 people he helped grow from a team of 25, after an earlier exit as co-owner of Double Effect. He produces music as Stage Republic and lives in Valkenburg, in the south of the Netherlands.
Corjan delivers bespoke keynotes of 30 to 60 minutes, in Dutch or English, researched and written for one audience. Each talk starts with a conversation about the question the organisation is actually facing. The talks are highly visual: the history is shown, not described, in cinematic AI-generated scenes and film made for that one stage.
“Corjan tells a story like no one else, using history as a mirror in an inspiring and unique format. ‘Strategy is the courage to sail into the void’; that line still comes up regularly in our meetings.”Prof. dr. Kevin Vernooy, Medical Director Heart+Vascular Centre, Maastricht UMC+
How do you lead when the map runs out, and AI is redrawing the coastline faster than anyone can chart it?
The question took us from a great 15th century Chinese fleet that mapped half the world and then burned its own records, via the Arsenal of Venice, where 16,000 workers ran the first assembly line on earth for a republic that lost because it wanted to be like its rival, to the Phoenicians, who solved a bookkeeping problem by inventing our alphabet. Along the way, we found:
How do you stay ahead in a field where mistakes cost lives and research can save them, while AI and robotics are changing the rules?
The question took us from Columbus, who got stuck on his way to discover America, via Gutenberg's printing press, to the Sun King Louis XIV's royal physician and a Bell Labs corridor that produced nine Nobel Prizes. Along the way, we found:
How do you build an event people never forget and what makes a live experience worth being in the room for?
The question took us from Cleopatra, who won a bet with Mark Antony, via two logbooks aboard three ships, to a 16th-century Japanese tea master who created an unforgettable experience in just two square metres. Along the way, we found:
